France seeks anti-piracy force

After the recent seizure of a French luxury yacht off the coast of Somalia (the hostages have since been freed), the prime minister of France is calling on the UN to establish an anti-piracy force.

Somalia is currently one of the hotbeds of modern piracy. Pirates there are somewhat organized and are a serious problem.

Mean while, it would seem that attacks are down in piracy's other home, the Malacca Straits.
